J. Lincoln (M.M.) is a Chicago based pianist, song writer and educator. During his studies J. received honors in chamber music at the Chicago College of Performing Arts Chamber Showcase, and took 2nd place in the Wheaton College Keyboard Concerto Competition. After completing his graduate studies, J. turned to jazz and began his role as a hired gun in studio and on stage. His work has appeared on various projects spanning classical, rock, funk and jazz. Recent releases include Sessions from Studio A - Bird X Butterfly, Zenith Ascension with Umraan Syed, Arrival (contact) with YaYa Biggs, and Be Easy behind Dany Cronson. J. performs his own works and provides rhythm for Bird X Butterfly, Umraan Syed, Danny Cronson, YaYa Biggs and other Chicago artists.
J. is on piano faculty at the Music Conservatory of Ilinois, teaches composition adjunctly at the Moody Bible Institute, and directs music at Trinity Anglican Church in Chicago, IL.
